POSITION: Part-Time Academic - THEA 3600.06XY: The Playwright in the Theatre
TERM: September 1, 2019 – April 30, 2020 (Fall and Winter Term)
DEPARTMENT/LOCATION: Fountain School of Performing Arts
PAY RATE: As per CUPE Collective Agreement

WORK ASSIGNMENT: This Part-Time Academic will take responsibility for the teaching and grading of THEA 3600.06XY: The Playwright in the Theatre, from September 1, 2019 to April 30, 2020. The position scope may include supervision of rehearsals and performances of playwriting students’ work which may require some evening work in the Winter term. It may also involve organization and coordination of guest lectures, masterclasses and seminars over the course of the class. The instructor is required to provide a Method of Assessment and to announce end of term student ratings/evaluations of instruction. This position reports to the Director of the Fountain School of Performing Arts.

REQUIREMENTS OF POSITION: MA, MFA or equivalent in Theatre, Drama or related discipline, and/or substantial professional experience as a playwright. Previous experience of teaching playwriting at a university level is an asset, as is evidence of strong teaching effectiveness.
