New records management resources available

April is Records and Information Management Month, which makes it a great time to think about information —regardless of format or medium — that is created, received and maintained by the University and provides evidence of its transactions or activities.

Did you know Dalhousie has a Records Management Office, supporting the University’s Records Management Policy? As one of the units in the Dalhousie Libraries, the Records Management Office offers training sessions on records management and maintains the Records Management webpage. Just in time for Records and Information Management Month, we have updated the site with a number of new resources including:

  • Information on DalCLASS, records storage, transitory records, and privacy/records containing personal information
  • Email content management best practices
  • FAQs
  • Forms and templates for records dispensation authorization, signing authorities, and more
  • Glossary
  • Procedures
  • Training videos
