Position Summary:

"Decreasing Unnecessary Medications: Dissemination and Prioritization of Interprofessional Primary Care Deprescribing Strategies in Nova Scotia" is an NSHRF KSSA funded project.

The goals are to share the results of previous studies with stakeholders using an engaging and interactive approach and to identify priorities for the development and implementation of collaborative deprescribing strategies in primary health care in Nova Scotia.

Reporting to the Principal Investigators, the Research Coordinator will work with the collaborative, interprofessional research team, OPTx, which consists of members with expertise in pharmacy, nursing, medicine, qualitative research, and library sciences.

Responsibilities:

·         Under the direction of the Principal Investigators, oversee the planning and scheduling of tasks, including recruiting of stakeholders.

·         Oversee distribution of questionnaires and collation of results as well as preparation and testing of research summary materials.

·         Plan and coordinate Knowledge Exchange Day event; assist with development of reports and materials from the event.

·         Assist with ethics submission and grant preparation as required.

·         Assist in preparing presentations, reports, and manuscripts.

·         Other tasks as required

Qualifications: Completion of, or currently enrolled in, a research-based Masters or PhD program in a relevant field (e.g., social or health sciences, applied health services research). Experience with implementation science, knowledge translation or dissemination of study findings is required. Excellent communication skills with experience in facilitating groups; excellent writing and organizational skills; and experience with Microsoft Office and reference management software are required. Must have the ability to work independently, as well as within a collaborative, interprofessional team environment. Experience with collaborative research is an asset.

Status: Approximately 5 hours/week (will vary, with some weeks requiring more than others)

Pay Scale: $20-22/hour, commensurate with qualifications and experience

Duration: 40 weeks
