Child Participants Ages 6 to 11 Needed for Language & Reading Study

Posted by School of Communication Sciences & Disorders on January 31, 2019 in General Announcements

I am looking for children who might like to participate in my PhD study on language and reading! Maybe you can help?

Do you know a child who:

- is 6 to 11 years old

- uses spoken English only (no more than core French, not fluent in any other language)

- has no hearing difficulties, and

- has no diagnosed cognitive difficulties?

What does it mean to participate?

Participation is voluntary and involves one 60-minute session with me to do hearing, thinking, verbal language and reading tasks. A parent/caregiver would need to fill out a short questionnaire and sign a consent form.

What does the child get for participating?

I will provide a summary of the child's testing results to the child's parent/guardian, the child picks a couple of fun items as a thank you, and the child/family is entered in a draw for one of five $20 e-cards for iTunes or Amazon.

If you or someone you know might be interested, please email Bonita Squires for more information at Bonita.Squires@Dal.caThank you!
