Respectful Workplace Toolkit now available

Posted by Human Resources on December 10, 2018 in Human Resources

In response to the 2017 Quality of Work Life Survey results, the university has introduced a Respectful Workplace Toolkit that is now available on the Human Rights & Equity Services (HRES) website.

The toolkit contains important information, resources and supports for faculty and staff including what to do if you experience harassment or bullying in the workplace, how to have difficult conversations with colleagues or managers, and where to go if you need immediate help.

“Dalhousie is committed to building a respectful workplace culture, and one that empowers our employees to proactively identify and address potential situations and seek help when they need it,” says Janice MacInnis, Manager, Organizational Health, Human Resources.

In addition to the toolkit, there have been a number of workshops and training sessions held throughout the year on topics including incivility in the workplace, having non-defensive conversations and learning the basics of conflict resolution.

The toolkit, intended to be a hub of information accessible in one place, is also available on the DalSafe mobile app under Human Rights & Equity Services.
