POSITION: Language Assistant
DEPARTMENT/LOCATION: German Department
PAY RATE: HOURLY $15/hour (4 hours per week for 24 weeks)
COURSE INFORMATION: GERM 1010 X/Y: German for Beginners
Fall & Winter Terms 2018-2019 (September 1, 2018 – March 31, 2019)
WORK ASSIGNMENT: The student will conduct German language conversation sessions with a focus on phonetics for students in first year language classes of the German Department, as well as drop-in tutorial sessions to answer questions and help students with homework and assignments (approx. 4 hours/wk).
REQUIREMENTS OF POSITION: Applicants must be international degree-seeking students registered as full-time students at Dalhousie University. This position requires native or near-native fluency in German and English. Good interpersonal skills required to work with groups of students or for one-on-one interaction.
This position is funded through the International Work-Study Experience program to support the employment of international students. We welcome applications from international students.

COURSE INFORMATION: GERM 2001/2002: Intermediate German, GERM 3000 X/Y: Advanced German
Fall & Winter Terms 2018-2019 (September 1, 2018 – March 31, 2019)
WORK ASSIGNMENT: The student will conduct intensive German language oral practice sessions for students in intermediate and advanced language classes of the German Department (approx. 4 hours/wk).
