DEPARTMENT/LOCATION:  Bachelor Management, Rowe School of Business, and Faculty of Management

PAY RATE: $16.28

TOTAL HOURS:  25hr

REQUIREMENTS OF POSITION: 

You should have completed or be enrolled in a Masters program.  Preference will be given to those who have taken higher-level courses in Organizational Behaviour, Organizational Theory and Design, Personal and Professional Effectiveness, Management Skills or related subjects.  Excellent command of the English language is required as correct grammatical usage and spelling are items to be marked in selected assignments.

                                                                                                                               

WORK ASSIGNMENT:  The marker will assist with Mgmt. 3309 – Management Skills

  • Duties include, but are not limited to:    
  • Marking assignments and tests
  • Meeting with students for assistance

WORK ASSIGNMENT:                 The Teaching Assistant will assist with MGMT 1301 course.

DUTIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

The TA will attend assigned classes, throughout the term, on Tuesday/Thursday from 4:00-5:30 and be responsible for participating, tracking and evaluating in-class assignments.  The TA will upload grades to Brightspace, assist with marking or evaluating one or more of the assignments or tests, proctor exams, and help coordinate marker(s).

REQUIREMENTS OF POSITION:  

Successful applicants must be a senior undergraduate, graduate or professional students at Dalhousie University. Students having graduated within the past two years will also be considered. Previous experience with leading tutorial discussions is an asset.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

  1. Conduct tutorials and help sessions
  2. General administration
  3. Assist instructor when needed
  4. Meeting with students for assistance
  5. Be available to assist with invigilating& marking examinations.

REQUIREMENTS OF POSITION:  

The position is ideally for 4th year undergraduate, or an MBA Candidate in the second year, or a PhD student in Operations related field. Must have a high academic standing. To be able to prepare and present tutorials and to be available for consultation with students. Good interpersonal skills required to work with groups of students or for one-on-one interaction. To be well prepared, organized and responsible.

Keeping track of and evaluating daily in-class assignment submissions

Assisting with marking or evaluating one or more of the assignments or tests

REQUIREMENTS OF POSITION:  

Knowledge of and experience with MS Office. Confidence in dealing with students, giving help and evaluating ideas. Past success in MGMT 1601 is desirable.

Knowledge of grammar and professional writing.
Experience with oral communication or public speaking is an asset.
