POSITION(S): Teaching Assistant (TA) and Marker positions are available for several Mathematics (MATH) and Statistics (STAT) courses during the fall 2018 term. DEPARTMENT/LOCATION: Mathematics and Statistics, Halifax Campus
PAY RATE: According to CUPE Agreement Local 3912
WORK ASSIGNMENT – TEACHING ASSISTANTS: Duties are varied and may include (1) preparing tutorial material, (2) teaching tutorials as per the instructions of the course coordinators, (3) marking assignments and/or exams and maintaining an on-line grade book on Brightspace, (4) providing general administrative assistance as required by the course instructors and (5) marking student submissions in the exam period and/or invigilate the final exam.
WORK ASSIGNMENT - MARKERS: Duties include meeting with the course instructor/TAs, setting a marking key, marking assignments/tutorials, and compiling marks in a spreadsheet. You will be expected to mark student submissions in the exam period.
For all positions - the fall term starts on September 4, 2018 and ends December 4, 2018 with the exam period continuing until December 16, 2018.
REQUIREMENTS OF POSITION: Successful candidates will have completed the course(s) they would be working with, with a letter grade of at least B+ or equivalent.
