POSITION: Sessional Lecturer (up to 2 positions)
HESA 4000.01 and HESA 4000.02
Fall (September-December 2018)
DEPARTMENT/LOCATION: School of Health Administration
PAY RATE: According to CUPE Contract
WORK ASSIGNMENT: Each Sessional Lecturer will be responsible for the online delivery of one-half credit course, HESA 4000, Canadian Health Care Delivery System, during the fall term (September to December 2018), in the Diploma in Emergency Health Services Management or the Diploma in Health Services Administration programs. For the course description please refer to the Dalhousie Academic Calendar. Applicants may apply for one or both positions. Responsibilities include all aspects of teaching and administering the online course; course preparation including course content for lectures, test/assignments/exam preparation and evaluation/marking of student course work, as well as, providing tutorial support to students. The Sessional Lecturer is the Professor of Record for this course. The position reports to the Director of the School.
REQUIREMENTS OF POSITION:
-Master's degree in health administration
-Minimum of 5 years' relevant work experience
-Previous experience teaching in an online environment

WORK ASSIGNMENT: The Sessional Lecturer will teach a one-half credit course, HESA 6100, Ethical Decisions in Health Administration, in the Master of Health Administration program for the academic year 2018 (September-December). For the course description please refer to the Dalhousie Academic Calendar. Responsibilities include: the development, delivery and management of: a) course lecturers; b) classroom learning activities; c) course assignments/projects, tests, and exams, d) student grading and evaluation and; e) tutorial support as required. The Sessional Lecturer is the Professor of Record for this course, reporting to the Director of the School.
REQUIREMENTS OF POSITION: PhD degree and a minimum of 5 years experience in administrative ethics. Individuals with an MHA or MBA degree, or other relevant degree, and minimum of 5 years experience in administrative ethics may be considered. Teaching experience is a strong asset. Experience as a mid to senior administrator in healthcare would be viewed favourably.

Responsibilities include: the development, delivery and management of: a) course lectures; b) classroom learning activities; c) course assignments/projects, tests, and exams; d) student grading and evaluation, and e) tutorial support as required. The Lecturer is the Professor of Record, reporting to the Director of the School.
REQUIREMENTS OF POSITION: PhD degree and teaching experience in 'administrative decision making'. Individuals with an MHA or MBA degree and teaching experience in decision making, may be considered. Experience of as a mid to senior administrator in healthcare would be viewed favourably.
