Senior Instructor Position ‑ School of Health Administration/Schulich School of Law

Senior Instructor Position - School of Health Administration/Schulich School of Law​

Applications are invited for a Senior Instructor position that will encompass teaching, educational scholarship, and educational leadership in the School of Health Administration (50%) and the Schulich School of Law (50%) commencing July 1, 2018. The Senior instructor is a full, voting faculty member of both the School of Health Administration and the Schulich School of Law with associated rights and responsibilities. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.  

The Senior Instructor will have an 80% teaching and a 20% administrative workload. This will include the role of instructor of record, preparation and delivery of courses, and student evaluation in both Schools. The Senior Instructor will also be responsible for the coordination of the JD/Masters in Health Administration.  A program, including academic advising; coordinating; oversight of the Health Law Certificate; and developing and delivering non-credit based professional development courses (for example, the Certificate in Legal Aspects of Health Care Administration). 

The successful candidate will have a Juris Doctor degree and a relevant Master's Degree with a minimum of five years teaching experience at the university level. Expertise in and proven ability to teach health law courses; proven ability to teach Health Law for health professionals, including ability to teach health law to non-lawyers; demonstrated passion for learning and teaching; and evidence of teaching excellence are essential.  Proficiency with online teaching technology such as BrightSpace; demonstrated ability to contribute to course development; demonstrated experience with delivery and evaluation of law and health administration curricula; and demonstrated ability to supervise teaching assistants are strong assets.
