Thursday, March 1-Judaism: Purim

Celebrates victory over an oppressive ruler, as related in the Book of Esther, which is read at this time.​

Friday, March 2-Hinduism:Holi

A religious spring festival celebrated by people throwing colourful powder and coloured water at each other. Holi is dedicated to Krishna or Kama.​

Thursday, March 8- International Women’s Day (UN)

Based on a UN resolution of 1977, the International Women’s Day is annually observed on March 8 as an official UN event to commemorate the historic struggle to improve women’s lives. It is celebrated around the world at the local and national level.​

Sunday, March 11- Daylight Saving Time begins (USA, Canada)

Daylight Saving Time begins on the second Sunday in March and ends on the first Sunday in November. Begins at 2:00 a.m.

Monday, March 12-Commonwealth Day

Commonwealth Day is annually held on the second Monday of March. It commemorates the Commonwealth of Nations, which is a union of some countries that used to be part of the British Empire. It is not a statutory holiday; rather it is a day of observance by close to one billion persons of their common bonds and the contribution of the Commonwealth of Nations to the creation of a harmonious global environment.​

Occurs on the intercalary days (March 16 - 20) and celebrates the creation of human beings and commemorates passed souls.
