Position: Fulltime Instructor (Limited-Term Appointment)

Description: The Department of Psychology and Neuroscience at Dalhousie University invites applications for a full-time 12-month Instructor position commencing 1 July 2018. The duties associated with this position will be equivalent to nine half-credit course load distributed over a one-year period. Specifically, the Instructor will be responsible for teaching two courses in the Fall term, three courses in the Winter term, and one course in the Spring session. There will also be some administrative duties within the department as part of this position to be determined by the Chair of the department at the time of hiring.

The ideal candidate will have an advanced degree in psychology and/or neuroscience, expertise in animal behaviour, excellent knowledge of experimental design, and prior teaching experience in these fields. Applicants with advanced degrees in other areas (e.g., Biology) with expertise in experimental design and animal behaviour will also be considered for the position.

Probationary Instructor

The Department of Psychology and Neuroscience at Dalhousie University invites applications for a probationary position as Instructor in our CPA Accredited Clinical Psychology Program within the Department of Psychology and Neuroscience at Dalhousie University. The position is available beginning June 1, 2018. Candidates should have a PhD in Psychology, should be fully registered (for independent practice) in the province of Nova Scotia or be eligible for registration. The ideal candidate would have experience teaching undergraduate and graduate courses, as well as experience in clinical supervision.

They will teach six classes at the graduate and undergraduate levels, with the possibility of a 1-course reduction depending on administrative responsibilities and supervisory load associated with undergraduate and graduate student research projects.  They will also be responsible for supervising practica, provide consultation and administrative duties to a health clinic in the north end of Halifax.

Although research is not a required component of this position, in keeping with the nature of the Psychology and Neuroscience Department, we will support the successful applicant in developing or continuing to develop their research program.
