Position: Part Time Academic – Summer 2018

Department:  Engineering

Pay Rate:  Pay will range from $4881.00- $5969.00

Work Assignment:   The Part-time Academic will teach an online offering of MTHA 0050: Functions.  This course is offered from July 4th - August 31st 2018.  The Part-time Academic will be responsible for all aspects of teaching and administering the course, including: instruction and facilitation of the online component, test preparation and evaluation.  

Prior to course delivery the Part-Time Academic will also be responsible for ensuring the course contents are entirely online. This involves content, assessments, evaluations, and course settings. The position reports to the Chair of the Department.

Requirements:  M.Sc. with experience teaching pre-university or lower-division math, PhD preferred. At least one year experience of teaching in a postsecondary educational institution. Experience in an online teaching environment in Brightspace and demonstrated fluency with educational technologies. Willingness to work in an accelerated learning format and to work online with students on a daily basis.  Have access to a personal computer and broadband internet services.   Able to instruct and facilitate a meaningful learning experience of the course competencies in the curriculum and proactively support all facets of the online learning eenvironment. Excellent oral and written communication skills and interpersonal skills.
