Position: 
Part-time Academic position, teaching course NUTR3001 (Applied Animal Nutrition) in the 2018 Winter semester.  Lectures for this course are scheduled for Tuesdays and Thursdays, 9:35 a.m. to 10:55 p.m., with Labs scheduled on Monday from 12:05 to 1:55 p.m.
 
Department Location: Haley Institute, Dalhousie Agricultural Campus

Pay Rate:  In accordance with the CUPE Collective Agreement.

Work Assignment:
The incumbent will be responsible for preparing and delivering course material related to ruminant animal nutrition to a class of approximately 30 students registered in the B.Sc Agriculture/Animal Science program.  The course includes components of monogastric and ruminant nutrition, and core concepts which apply to both.  The incumbent will work closely with the Monogastric Nutrition professor to teach core concepts, and will be responsible for all sections specific to ruminant nutrition.  The incumbent will have the assistance of an instructor for laboratory components, but will be responsible for ensuring academic content and integration with lecture material.    Course commitment is for the full semester, however actual teaching involvement is expected to be approximately half the lectures and labs for the semester. The incumbent will also be responsible for all aspects of administering the class, including test preparation and evaluation. 

Requirements of Position:
PhD in ruminant nutrition or related ruminant animal specialty, with experience teaching in post-secondary education.  Individuals with a Master's degree will be considered, but would be expected to have additional industry or teaching experience.
