Part-Time Academic Instructor Posting – Dept. of Business and Social Sciences

Position: Part-Time Academic Instructor– Winter 2018 – MGTA 0210: Agriculture Manager II (Modules)
Department:  Department of Business & Social Sciences

Pay Rate:  In accordance with CUPE Collective Agreement

Work Assignment: This course consists of 4 modules. This instructor will teach a module or modules in the course: MGTA 0210 – Agriculture Manager II for the period January – April 2018.  The class lectures are currently scheduled for Tuesdays/Thursdays, 11:35-12:55.  

This four-module course is intended as a team-taught course. The applicant will teach one or (preferably) more of the following Modules (please indicate in your application the Module(s) you wish to be considered to teach).

  1. Module 1: Farm Financial Records and Decision Making – 4 weeks
  2. Module 2: Crop Management Records and Decision-Making – 4 Weeks
  3. Module 3: Dairy Herd Records and Decision-Making – 4 Weeks
  4. Module 4: Food Safety and Quality Records and Decision-Making – 4 weeks

The instructor(s) will be responsible for all aspects of teaching and administering the class, including lectures, test and exam preparation and evaluation.  The position reports to the Chair of the Department.

Requirements:  Teaching experience at a University Level; at least a degree in Agribusiness, Agricultural Economics or other relevant area, or equivalent experience and professional qualifications; knowledge and work experience in the agricultural industry would be an asset; Demonstrated teaching effectiveness and excellent interpersonal skills with students and Faculty.
