DEPARTMENT/LOCATION: Department of Earth Sciences and various field locations.

PAY RATE: According to CUPE Agreement Local 3912 (http://3912.cupe.ca/)

WORK ASSIGNMENT: Each position is for 45, 65, 90 or 110 hours of work as indicated in the table above (e.g. a TA90 is paid for 90 hours of work). Duties are varied and will include preparing lab/tutorial material, demonstrating the labs/tutorials, marking the labs/tutorials and assignments, and assisting the course instructor with teaching related duties. The fall term starts on September 5, 2017 and ends December 5, 2017 with the exam period continuing until December 17, 2017. You will be expected to mark student submissions in the exam period and/or invigilate the final exam.

REQUIREMENTS OF POSITION: Applicants should be graduate students in the Department of Earth Sciences, Dalhousie University. Highly qualified senior undergraduate students and students from other units will be considered if there is an insufficient number of graduate student applications. Check the university timetable to ensure you are available during the lab/tutorial period for which you are applying.

WORK ASSIGNMENT - MARKERS: Duties include meeting with the course instructor/TAs, setting a marking key, marking labs/assignments/tutorials, and compiling marks in a spreadsheet. You will be expected to mark student submissions in the exam period.

For all positions - the fall term starts on September 5, 2017 and ends December 5, 2017 with the exam period continuing until December 17, 2017.
