POSITIONS: Part-time Academic(s) required to teach the following courses during the 2017-2018 academic year
DEPARTMENT/LOCATION: Department of Physics & Atmospheric Science, Sir James Dunn Building
PAY RATE: As per CUPE, Local 3912 Collective Agreement

WORK ASSIGNMENTS:

Fall Term 2017-2018 (September 1, 2017 to December 31, 2017)
1. PHYC 1190 Introduction to Physics
2. PHYC 1450 Astronomy & The Evolving Universe
3. PHYC 3000/3340 Experimental Physics
4. PHYC 4520 Intro to Atmospheric Science

Winter Term 2017-2018 (January 1, 2018 to April 30, 2018)
1. PHYC 1450 Astronomy & The Evolving Universe
2. PHYC 4505 Atmospheric Physics
3. PHYC 4570 Radiative Transfer

Duties include full responsibility for teaching. Reasonable office hours should be available to students. All positions report to the Chair of the Department of Physics & Atmospheric Science.

REQUIREMENTS OF POSITIONS:
Candidates must have an advanced degree in Physics (MSc or PhD), and must have critical thinking skills and relevant teaching experience at the university level. Excellent organizational and written communication skills are required. For Atmospheric Science courses: MSc required, PhD preferred in the area of atmospheric Science, expertise in the relevant area, and teaching experience at the university level. Diploma in Meteorology preferred.
