Abstract

Dr. Ashley-Martin will discuss the burden of exposure to and health effects of environmental chemicals in pregnancy and childhood.  Her presentation will provide an overview of and highlight key findings from the MIREC Research Platform.  The MIREC study recruited nearly 2000 women during early pregnancy and has extensive data on biomarkers of environmental chemical exposure, susceptibility, and health outcomes.  Combined with follow-up data in infancy, early childhood, and adolescence, the MIREC study offers a unique opportunity to investigate the health effects of environmental chemicals from exposome and lifecourse perspectives.
