Lucy Glen-Carter from the Dalhousie Tigers women's volleyball team and Joseph Raaymakers of the STFX X-Men hockey team have been named the Subway AUS Athletes of the Week for their respective performances for this past week.

Lucy Glen-Carter of the Dalhousie Tigers women’s volleyball team is the Subway Atlantic University Sport women’s athlete of the week for the week ending Jan. 15, 2023.

A master of physiotherapy student from Toronto, Ont., Glen-Carter was named Subway Player of the Game in two consecutive Tigers road wins this past weekend at UNB.

In Friday’s 3-0 win, she had 15 kills, six digs, two block and two aces in an 18.5-point performance.

Saturday, she had 15 kills and 10 digs in a 17.0-point performance leading the Tigers to another 3-0 win.

Glen-Carter currently leads the Atlantic conference and sits second in the nation in kills per set (4.50).

Joseph Raaymakers of the STFX X-Men hockey team is the Subway Atlantic University Sport men’s athlete of the week for the week ending Jan. 15, 2023.

An education student in his third year of eligibility from Chatham, Ont., Raaymakers led the X-Men to two weekend road wins in net for STFX.

In Friday’s 4-0 win over Moncton, he was named Subway Player of the Game following a 42-save performance and shut out.

He followed this up with 33 saves Saturday night in Fredericton as the X-Men topped the U SPORTS no. 3-ranked UNB Reds 4-3 in overtime.
