Grace Beer, Hockey
First-year goaltender Grace Beer is this week’s female PepsiCo Athlete of the Week.
Grace had a great weekend in nets for the Tigers this past weekend.
She made 21 saves in the Tigers 2-0 loss to the UNB REDS Friday night in Fredericton, New Brunswick.
Grace stood tall for the Tigers on Saturday, especially during the shootout, turning away 47 shots to earn Subway Player of the Game honours in their 2-1 loss to UPEI at home.
A recreation student, Grace is from Oakville, Ont.
Matt Green, Hockey
Third-year forward Matt Green is this week’s male PepsiCo Athlete of the Week.
Matt was an offensive threat in both the Tigers games this past weekend.
He had three points in the Tigers 3-1 over the Acadia Axemen at home Friday night. He scored the Tigers second goal of the night and recorded assists on the other two to kick off the second half of the season.
A native of Hammonds Plains, N.S., Matt is a commerce student.
