Alex Carson, Basketball

Fourth-year basketball player Alex Carson is this week’s MUSCLE MLK Male Athlete of the Week.

Alec led the Tigers to two wins over the UPEI Panthers this weekend.

He scored 23 points in his 18 minutes on the court, going five for nine from the three-point line and added three rebounds in the Tigers 113-73 win over the Panthers.

In Sunday’s 103-75 win, he scored 22 points in 18 minutes of play and went four for six from the three point line and added two rebounds and two steals.

Alex set a new Dalhousie record for three-point field goals made in a regular season career in Saturday’s game, topping the 155 mark previously set by
Brian Parker who played from 1995 to 1998. As of the end of the weekend, he now sits at 162.

A native of Lower Sackville, N.S., Alex is a recreation management major.

Julie Moore, Volleyball

Third-year volleyball player Julie Moore is this week’s MUSCLE MLK Female Athlete of the Week.

Julie led the Tigers to a 3-1 over the Acadia Axewomen Saturday afternoon at Dalplex.

She recorded a match-high 16 kills in the win and added 16 digs and two service aces for 18 total points. Julie was named the Subway Player of the Game for effort.

A commerce major, Julie is from Halifax, N.S.
