Fall Convocation videos: Honorary degree presentation and more

Dalhousie celebrated its newest graduates this past Tuesday (October 8) at Fall Convocation ceremonies.

The ceremonies were the first to be held at the Halifax Convention Centre. Earlier this year, Dal announced that Convocation ceremonies were moving to downtown Halifax in light of forthcoming renovations to the Dalhousie Arts Centre. (Read more.)

Among the excited graduates was a special guest of honour: filmmaker Selwin Jacob, who received an honorary degree from Dalhousie. Watch his presentation and speech below:


The ceremony was also a special one for Dalhousie Chancellor Anne McLellan: it was her final one as chancellor, as she's set to finish her term in early 2020. She was recognized for her service in remarks from Board of Governors Chair Candace Thomas at the afternoon ceremony:
