(Halifax, N.S.) - Dalhousie University presents our MUSCLE MLK Athletes of the Week for the week ending Sunday, September 29, 2019.

Rachelle Lalande, Soccer

Fifth-year midfielder Rachelle Lalande is this week’s MUSCLE MLK Female Athlete of the Week.

Rachelle scored two goals to lead the Tigers to two victories over the weekend.

She opened up the scoring Friday night, helping lead the Tigers to a 2-1 victory over the UNB Reds on home turf.

On Sunday afternoon, Rachelle scored the lone goal for the Tigers in their 1-0 win over the UPEI Panthers in Charlottetown, earning Subway Player of the Game honours.

Rachelle currently leads the Tigers in scoring with four goals and is tied for fifth in the AUS.

A kinesiology student, Rachelle is from Halifax, N.S.

Jonathan Cyr, Hockey

Third-year forward Jonathan Cyr is this week’s MUSCLE MLK Male Athlete of the Week.

Jonathan earned four points in two games last week.

He notched a goal and an assist in Wednesday night’s shootout loss to the StFX X-Men in Halifax, earning the third star of the game.

On Saturday, he added another goal and an assist in the Tigers 5-4 shootout win over the UPEI Panthers in Charlottetown, earning third star of the game honours again.

A native of Ottawa, Ont., Jonathan is a management student.
