(Halifax, N.S.) - Dalhousie University presents our MUSCLE MLK Athletes of the Week for the week ending Sunday, March 3, 2019.

Courtney Baker, Volleyball

Fourth-year setter Courtney Baker is this week’s MUSCLE MLK Female Athlete of the Week.

Courtney led the Tigers to their seventh consecutive AUS championship title over the weekend.

She had 21 assists, five kills and four digs in the Tiger 3-0 win over the Saint Mary’s Huskies in semifinal action on Friday to advance to the AUS championship final.

In Saturday’s championship final 3-1 win over UNB, she led the way once more with 35 assists, 14 digs and eight kills.

The AUS MVP for the second consecutive season, she was named a championship all-star and the MVP.

A kinesiology major, Courtney is from Bridgewater, N.S.

 

Cedric Sanogo, Basketball

Fourth-year guard Cedric Sanogo is this week’s MUSCLE MLK Male Athlete of the Week.

Cedric led the Tigers to their fourth AUS championship title in five years.

He was solid for the Tigers all weekend, both defensively and offensively in their three wins. He was the leading scorer for the Tigers in their semifinal win over the UNB Reds with 17 points and added five rebounds and two steals to earn Subway Player of the Game honours.

A native of Montreal, Q.C., Cedric is an engineering student.
