(Halifax, N.S.) - Dalhousie University presents our MUSCLE MLK Athletes of the Week for the week ending Sunday, February 3, 2019.

Fabiana Petricca, Hockey

Third-year goaltender Fabiana Petricca is this week’s MUSCLE MLK Female Athlete of the Week.

Fabiana led the Tigers to a pair of wins last week.

She stood tall for the Tigers making 31 saves in the Tigers 4-2 win over the StFX X-Women Wednesday night in Antigonish.

Two days later, she earned her first shutout of the season, stopping all 32 shots to lead the Tigers to a 1-0 win over the visiting UPEI Panthers.

Fabiana has made 800 saves during the regular season so far and has a .930 save percentage

A kinesiology student, Fabiana is from Woodbridge, Ont.

 

Quinton Dowling, Volleyball

First-year setter Quinton Dowling is this week’s MUSCLE MLK Male Athlete of the Week.

Quinton led the Tigers to a pair of wins over the visiting Sherbrooke Vert et Or over the weekend.

He had 34 assists, 10 digs, four kills and an ace, earning five points in the Tigers 3-1 victory Friday night.

On Saturday, he commanded the Tigers offence again with 27 assists and added seven digs and two blocks to win 3-0.

A native of Waterloo, Ont., Quinton is a kinesiology student.
