(Halifax, N.S.) - Dalhousie University presents our MUSCLE MLK Athletes of the Week for the week ending Sunday, January 20, 2019.

Victoria Haworth, Volleyball

Fourth-year middle blocker Victoria Haworth is this week’s MUSCLE MLK Female Athlete of the Week.

Victoria led the Tigers to a three-match sweep of the Memorial Sea-Hawks this past weekend.

She earned a total of 15.5 points with nine kills in as many attacks and added six aces and digs in the Tigers 3-0 win Friday night, earning Subway Player of the Game honours as a result.

She was steady again Saturday night, earning 6.5 points with five kills and an ace to lead the Tigers to another 3-0 win over the Sea-Hawks.

On Sunday, she recorded 11 kills, three digs, two aces and a stuff block, good for 14.0 points in the Tigers third and final 3-0 win over the host Sea-Hawks.

A medical sciences student, Victoria is from Waverley, N.S.

Geraint Berger, Swimming

Fifth-year swimmer Geraint Berger is this week’s MUSCLE MLK Male Athlete of the Week.

Geraint led the Tigers to a team win at the fourth and final AUS Invitational Swim Meet on Saturday.

He won two of the three individual events he entered, beating everyone to the wall in both the 100m backstroke and freestyle events. He added a second-place finish in the 50m butterfly.

Geraint earned two more victories, helping the Tigers to first-place finishes in both the 200m freestyle and medley relays.

A native of Halifax, N.S, Geraint is a Master of Pharmacology student.
