Sophie Gaube, Basketball
Fourth-year guard Sophie Gaube is this week’s MUSCLE MLK Female Athlete of the Week.
Sophie led the Tigers to a 78-58 win over the Saint Mary’s Huskies Friday night at the Scotiabank Centre.
She shot 50% from the three-point line, sinking six of her 12 shots. She also added five rebounds and two assists to earn Subway Player of the Game honours.
A chemistry student, Sophie is from Hubley, N.S.
Jeff Walton, Volleyball
Third-year outside hitter Jeff Walton is this week’s MUSCLE MLK Male Athlete of the Week.
Jeff was the top player for the Tigers in their losses to the Laval Rouge et Or over the weekend.
He had a team-high seven kills plus two blocks and a dig, earning 7.5 total points in the Tigers 3-0 loss to Laval on Friday night.
The next day, he added another team-high 11 kills, plus five digs and a block for 11.5 points.
A native of Sudbury, Ont., Jeff is an engineering student.
