Lights and colour

Students in Dal's School of Architecture — with support from the Faculty of Engineering — have organized the university's entry in Halifax's Chronicle Herald Parade of Lights for several years now, and 2018 was no exception.

But with this being Dal's 200th anniversary, there were a few noteworthy upgrades this year. The Architecture students' design was Dal 200-inspired — an hourglass lit up to represent the power of knowledge. There was Dal 200 clothing all around, and the Tiger was on-hand to provide his personal power of propulsion to move the float. Meanwhile, in the Medjuck Architecture Building, parade attendees took a reprieve from the cold for cookies and hot drinks, while those who stayed outside were treated to performances from an ensemble of Fountain School Music students in two separate locations prior to the parade.
