(Halifax, N.S.) - Dalhousie University presents our MUSCLE MLK Athletes of the Week for the week ending Sunday, November 4, 2018.

Natalie Stanwood, Hockey

Fourth-year defencewoman Natalie Stanwood is this week’s MUSCLE MLK Female Athlete of the Week.

Natalie led the Tigers to a win and a loss this past weekend.

She scored two goals in the Tigers 5-3 win over the Mount Allison Mounties Saturday night in Sackville, New Brunswick

The following day, she was steady on the blue line for the Tigers and had two shots on net in their 3-1 loss to the UNB Reds.

A management student, Natalie is from West Vancouver, B.C.

Alec Karlsen, Swimming

Third-year swimmer Alec Karlsen is this week’s MUSCLE MLK Male Athlete of the Week.

Alec led the Tigers to a first-place finish at the Mount Allison Invitational Swim Meet over the weekend.

Alec won all three of his events, touching the wall first in the 100m butterfly, 200m IM and 800m freestyle.

A native of Boerum, Norway Alec is a computer science student.
