(Halifax, N.S.) - Dalhousie University presents our MUSCLE MLK Athletes of the Week for the week ending Sunday, January 28, 2018.

Victoria Haworth, Volleyball

Third-year middle blocker Victoria Haworth is this week’s MUSCLE MLK Female Athlete of the Week.

Victoria led the Tigers to a two-match sweep of the UNB Varsity Reds over the weekend.

She recorded six kills, two aces and two blocks for a total of nine points in the Tigers 3-0 win Saturday night in Fredericton.

On Sunday, she had seven kills, four aces and four blocks, earning Subway Player of the Game honours in their 3-1 win.

Victoria is currently ranked second in the AUS in hitting percentage, block assists and aces per set.

A medical sciences student, Victoria is from Waverley, N.S.

Chandler Yakimowicz, Hockey

First-year forward Chandler Yakimowicz is this week’s MUSCLE MLK Male Athlete of the Week.

Chandler led the Tigers to two wins over Saint Mary’s and Acadia last week.

He scored two goals in the Tigers 4-2 win over the Saint Mary’s Huskies last Wednesday night, earning Subway Player of the Game honours.

In Saturday’s 6-2 win over the Acadia Axemen, he played a crucial role in the success of the Tigers special teams and earned the second star of the game after notching an assist.

A native of Kingston, Pennsylvania, Chandler is a management student.
