(Halifax, N.S.) - Dalhousie University presents our MUSCLE MLK Athletes of the Week for the week ending Sunday, January 14, 2018.

Danika Phillips, Hockey

Second-year forward Danika Phillips is this week’s MUSCLE MLK Female Athlete of the Week.

Danika recorded her first-ever AUS hat trick in the Tigers 6-2 win over the Mount Allison Mounties.

She got her first goal of the game early in the second period to give the Tigers a 3-1 lead over the visiting Mounties. She scored again on the power play, less than six minutes later to extend the lead to 4-1.

She scored her third goal of the game with three minutes left to play, giving the Tigers the 6-2 win.

A kinesiology student, Danika is from Barrie, Ont.

Jordan Aquino-Serjue, Basketball

Third-year guard Jordan Aquino-Serjue is this week’s MUSCLE MLK Male Athlete of the Week.

Jordan led the Tigers to a pair of wins over the weekend, averaging 15 points per game.

In Friday’s 89-82 win over the visiting Memorial Sea-Hawks, Jordan had seven points, five rebounds, four assists and two steals.

The next day, he scored 23 points and added six assists, and two rebounds and steals in their 102-94 overtime win over the Sea-Hawks

A native of Montreal, Q.C., Jordan is a kinesiology student.
