(Halifax, N.S.) - Dalhousie University presents our G2 Athletes of the Week for the week ending Sunday, October 23, 2016.

Brenna Kettlewell, Soccer

First-year striker Brenna Kettlewell is this week’s G2 Female Athlete of the Week.

Brenna had a strong weekend for the Tigers helping them gain four points in two games over the weekend.

She helped the Tigers maintain constant pressure and created dangerous chances in Firday night’s 1-1 tie against Acadia in Wolfville.

In Sunday’s 4-1 victory over Saint Mary’s, her tireless work rate on both sides of the ball was rewarded, as she scored Dal’s first goal at Wickwire.

An engineering student, Kettlewell is from Quispamsis, N.B.

Other nominees: Diedre Alexander (basketball); Lisa Maclean (hockey)

Kallen Heenan, Soccer

Third-year striker Kallen Heenan is this week’s G2 Male Athlete of the Week.

Heenan scored all three of the Tigers goals this past weekend, increasing his regular season total to seven.

On Friday night, he scored in the dying minutes of extra time to secure the Tigers a 1-1 tie with the Acadia Axemen.

After a scoreless first half on Sunday, Heenan got the Tigers on the board early in the second. He added a second, his seventh of the season, just 10 minutes later to give the Tigers a 2-0 win over the visiting Saint Mary’s Huskies.

A native of Dartmouth, N.S., Heenan is a management student.

Other nominee: Phil Gadoury (hockey)
