Research Chairs are professors funded to do high-level research in a particular area. There are three types of research chairs at Dalhousie: Canada Excellence Research Chairs, Canada Research Chairs and Endowed Chairs.
The Canada Excellence Research Chairs (CERC) program awards researchers up to $10 million over seven years to establish ambitious research programs at Canadian universities. The Faculty of Science is honoured to host a Canada Excellence Research Chair. Learn more on our CERC webpage.
The Canada Research Chairs (CRC) program invests $300 million per year to attract and retain some of the world's most accomplished and promising minds. The Faculty of Science proudly hosts 13 Canada Research Chairs. Learn more on our CRC webpage.
Endowed Chairs are appointments held by Dalhousie scholars. Endowments and federal programs fund several chairs. Support also comes from our generous friends and alumni. The Faculty of Science is pleased to have 9 Endowed Chairs. Learn more on our Endowed Chairs webpage.
