Physics Seminar: "Trajectory-based Approaches for Simulating Nonequilibrium Dynamics in open Quantum Systems"

I will present recently developed trajectory-based dynamics approaches for treating nonequilibrium phenomena in open quantum systems. These methods are rooted in mean field theory, and they lead to simulation schemes that employ statistical ensembles of trajectories. These methods are developed with treating light-driven processes like charge and energy transfer, beyond the perturbative electron-phonon coupling regime, in mind. We will explore the performance of these methods in a variety of scenarios including electron transfer reactions in chemistry, photosynthetic energy transfer in biology, and hot carrier relaxation in molecular wires.
