FIRST YEAR AWARDS

Burgess McKittrick Awards

Awarded to the student with the highest academic standing in Physics 1190/1290.

Awarded to the student with the highest academic standing in Physics 1300.

Burgess McKittrick Summer Studentship Award

Recipients: Andrew Allen, Una Rajnis
A four-month work term awarded to students who have completed first-year Physics, with high academic standing, who intend to enter the Honours Program.

J.G. MacGregor Award

Recipients: Shirax Nasser Al Balushi, Phoebe Seely
Undergraduate students achieving High A+ academic standing in PHYC 1190/1290 or PHYC1310/1320 who intend to enter the Honours Program.

SECOND YEAR AWARDS

A. S. MacKenzie Award

Recipient: Lukas Rudaitis
Awarded to the student with highest overall GPA in all Physics and Math classes in the first two years of the Physics Honours Program.

Burgess McKittrick Awards

Recipients: Giannis Georgakopoulos Tolis, Ethan Rozee
Awarded to the honours student achieving the highest standing in the core second-year Physics classes.

Recipient: Deirdre Spearns
Awarded to the top female student with first class standing entering the second-year level of the Honours Program in Physics.

A.S. MacKenzie Awards

Awarded to the student with the highest academic average in all third year core Physics classes.

Awarded to the student with the highest overall GPA in the third year of the Honours Program in Physics.

Darrell Montgomery Award

Awarded to a student in the experimental laboratory who has shown a love of experimentation, qualities of leadership, and participation in student activities in Physics.

FOURTH YEAR AWARDS

A. S. MacKenzie Awards

Awarded to the recipient of the University Medal in Physics.

Awarded to the highest standing first class Honours student who is not receiving the University Medal in Physics.

Awarded to the undergraduate student who best exemplifies the qualities of Dr. E.W. Guptill in showing initiative, experimental skill, leadership, and enthusiasm for Physics.

Theoretical Physics Award

Awarded to the undergraduate student(s) attending courses typically taught by Dr. Masayoshi Senba who, in the opinion of the faculty, possesses outstanding skills, interest, promise and determination in Theoretical Physics.

Most Improved Student Award

Awarded to the student in Physics (Major or Honours) in their third or fourth year who, compared to the previous academic year, exhibits the greatest improvement in their studies.

RESOURCE CENTRE TEACHING ASSISTANT AWARD

Awarded by the department to recognize the Teaching Assistant who is deemed by student evaluations to be the best overall TA in the Resource Center (This award was initiated and is funded by Professor Jeff Dahn).

TEACHING ASSISTANT AWARD
