Researchers Collaborate on Cabo Verde Elasmobranch Research Project

With more than 60 elasmobranch species (sharks, rays, skates) inhabiting its waters, Cabo Verde is considered to be a hot spot for several elasmobranch species and one of the last refuges for elasmobranchs in Western Africa. However, detailed scientific information is scarce, no stock assessment has been conducted and important habitats are basically unknown in this region.
