Shannon Ezzat (B.Sc. Hon., 2005) received his Ph.D. from the University of Canterbury in Christchurch, New Zealand, in 2012, after having lived through the devastating 2011 Christchurch earthquake. After graduating he returned to his native Cape Breton, where he has been teaching at CBU.
