2021 Annual Closing Ceremony

On Saturday, May 15, 2021, Imhotep's Legacy Academy held its 2021 Annual Closing Ceremony, sponsored by NSERC Science Odyssey. To adhere to COVID-19 restrictions, this is the first year that the event, themed Imagine Your Possibilities, was held online. There were two dynamic guest speakers: Dr. Ronke Olabisi and Dr. Ernest Korankye.

On Saturday, March 27, 2021 Imhotep’s Legacy Academy (ILA), in association with the Canadian Black Scientists Network (CBSN), Promoting Leadership in health for African Nova Scotians (PLANS) and the Delmore “Buddy” Daye Learning Institute (DBDLI) hosted the Black Excellence in STEM and Health Research Symposium (BESH). The 2021 event brought together STEM academics, research students, and secondary students from across Nova Scotia and Canada.

ILA held its 16th Annual Closing Ceremony on Saturday, May 18, 2019 at the Irving Auditorium, at Dalhousie University, Sexton Campus. Our closing ceremony is an opportunity to commend students, mentors and tutors on their exceptional work over the school year and highlight their noteworthy achievements. The program included student science demonstrations and personal testimonials.
