Tammy Schirle - MA 2000 - is currently an Assistant Professor in the Department of Economics at Wilfrid Laurier University. She graduated from Dalhousie University in 2000 and went on to complete her PhD in Economics at the University of British Columbia in 2006. Since then, she has published several academic articles on the labour market behaviour of older individuals and their retirement incomes. Tammy has also written articles on issues of earnings inequality, the labour market outcomes of women, and the relationship between the business cycle and mortality rates. In addition to her work at Laurier, she is currently the Co-director of the Canadian Labour Market and Skills Researcher Network Research Program 'Challenges to Canada's Retirement Income System' and a member of the C.D. Howe Institute Pension Papers Program Advisory Panel.
