Dalhousie’s Department of Biology is pleased to offer the widest range of courses in Atlantic Canada, and a number of high quality biology and marine biology programs.
Double major and combined honours programs are available for students who wish to specialize in two subject areas. Students also have the option of doing any of the four-year degrees as a co-op program, and earning one or more certificates if certain courses are taken as part of the program.

Flexibility and choice
The four-year major and Honours biology programs are popular among students who are interested in careers in medicine, dentistry, and the health professions such as physiotherapy, occupational therapy and nursing.
There are also vigorous MSc and PhD programs. The presence of these graduate students greatly enlivens the intellectual atmosphere of the department.
