Science As Art Calendar

The Faculty of Science has produced the Science As Art calendar for over ten years. It’s a collection of striking photographs and images that encourage people to recognize the beauty of science taking place in labs, field work, daily routines and travels.

Each year, Dalhousie science alumni, faculty, staff and students submit their own works of science art for use in the calendar, which is then mailed to over 9,000 Dal science alumni in December.

The 2019 Science As Art Winning Submissions

The Science As Art calendar keeps Faculty of Science alumni informed on research and activities currently happening on campus while providing a convenient way to contribute optional donations to Dalhousie’s Science Student Experience Fund (SSEF).

About The Science Student Experience Fund

Donations to the Science Student Experience Fund support the creation of the Dalhousie Outdoor Ecolab, a living laboratory in the courtyard space of the Life Sciences Centre. Representing various eco-regions found in Nova Scotia, the lab will give science students a hands-on opportunity to put knowledge from the classroom to use in an outdoor space designed to cover curriculum in earth sciences, biology and environmental sciences. Collaboration with expertise in Dalhousie’s Faculties of Agriculture and Arts and Social Sciences is a pillar of the lab’s vision, too. Learn more about the Dalhousie Outdoor Ecolab here.
