Professional Mentorship Program November Bulletin

Posted by Jannaya Jensen & Lauren Murphy on November 27, 2013 in Students, News

We are almost at the end of this year’s first semester! Dalhousie CLA would like to wish everyone luck with their final papers and projects.

We know that November and early December is a hectic time of year for students. This December break is a great opportunity to take some time for coffee with your mentor or to tour your mentor’s workplace! We encourage you to reach out this coming month to your PMP partner.

Upcoming Events:

Mentors and mentees, this December 5th, the Halifax Library Association (HLA) is hosting the second event of this year’s Library & a Pub Tour series.  The event will begin at the Art Gallery of Nova Scotia for a guided tour, followed by a gathering at the Foggy Goggle.

HLA asks that you RSVP by December 2nd to halifaxlibraryassociation@gmail.com.

The event is free for HLA members, and non-members who wish to attend will be given an HLA registration form ($10, but only $5 for students) for a one-year HLA membership. There will be prize draws!

This is a great opportunity for you and your PMP partner to connect and participate in an interesting and fun event!

To learn more about the event and HLA membership, we encourage you to visit HLA’s website.

Students, we also recommend that you attend this year’s Management Without Borders Poster Conference, taking place on December 3rd from 5:30-8:00 in the McInnes Room, which is on the 2nd floor of the Dalhousie Student Union Building. This is an excellent chance to see the impressive work your fellow students have been doing with public, private, and not-for-profit organizations.

We would like to encourage all PMP participants to get in touch with the Dalhousie CLA Student Chapter (contact information below) with any questions. Dal CLA would love to hear your suggestions for the program or if you have any topics or events that you would like us to include in our next bulletin.

Thanks and best wishes!
