Join the yearlong 25th birthday celebration for the Bachelor of Management (BMgmt) program! Each month will feature an activity which students and alumni are invited to attend—the next being the Ultimate BMgmt Scavenger Hunt on Saturday, Oct 26th from 1 to 3 pm.
The BMgmt began in 1999 with 25 students and continues growing each year, with close to 150 new students starting last month. It was designed and continues to be, a program that emphasizes critical thinking, teamwork, and problem solving. Paulette Skerrett, the director of the BMgmt says “We continue to incorporate emerging trends such as digital transformation and sustainability to ensure our students remain relevant and globally competitive.”
Mike Smit, the Dean of the Faculty of Management, has taught BMgmt students for many years and says he loves the flexibility of the program and the broad spectrum of occupations that students pursue when they graduate. Smit says “it’s crafted to pair well with other Dalhousie subjects to support a career in any sector. Everything you care about needs management!”
Alumni have gone on to lead community organizations, study law, own and operate businesses from distilleries to landscaping companies, pursue graduate studies, and work for all levels of government. Every student can choose to complete an 8-month internship to enhance their learning with relevant work experience.
You can register a team for the scavenger hunt before October 18th for a chance to win $400 in prizes. Keep an eye on our Instagram page and here on our website for next month’s event.
