Tony Bowron (on left in picture), Master of Environmental Studies ’06, and his colleague Nancy Neatt were awarded a Gulf of Maine Visionary Award 2012 at the Gulf of Maine Council on the Marine Environment awards ceremony held in Fredericton on June 6, 2012.
The Gulf of Maine Visionary Awards are presented annually to individuals or organizations in each of the five Gulf of Maine jurisdictions of Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Maine, New Brunswick and Nova Scotia. The Awards recognize innovation, creativity and commitment to coastal and marine environmental issues by business, environmental organizations and individuals who are making a difference to the health of the Gulf of Maine.
“The award was given to Tony and Nancy for their work with CB Wetland and Environmental Specialists [CBWES] in appreciation of their dedication and commitment to salt marsh restoration in the Gulf of Maine Watershed, continued promotion of the Gulf of Maine Salt Marsh Restoration Guide and commitment to provide recommendations for continuous improvement of best management practices. CB Wetlands and Environmental Specialists utilize some of the most innovative and successful salt marsh restoration techniques known around the world.”
