The health and well-being of our students is our number one priority, and it is vital we do our part to reduce the transmission of COVID-19. The Management Career Services office is currently closed, and all staff are working from home. Below are a set of commonly-asked questions, as well as a list of the most recent updates to students and employers regarding work terms. All students are advised to continue to check their Dal.ca email for future updates, and to check in with their supervisors/recruiters frequently.

Fall 2021 Work Term

What are my options for Fall 2021?

Students who are doing a work term in Fall 2021 are expected to conduct a thorough job search. All work terms must meet the stated program requirements (minimum of 12 weeks for Commerce Co-op, 32 weeks for BMgmt Internship).

Can I accept a position that involves work from home?

Yes. MCS has a process to approve virtual working and will take that into consideration when approving your work term record. Contact Management Career Services for more information.

 

Summer 2021 Work Term Students

What are my options for Summer 2021?

I am concerned about lockdowns.

On April 22 and 23, 2021, Management Career Services communicated to all employers that had hired for the Summer 2021 work term period from a program we serve. We are seeking clarity on how students are working (100% work from home, hybrid or 100% in person) and we were clear that student safety and respecting all public health measures are our top concern. If you have concerns about your work term, please contact your assigned Career and Recruitment Specialist or Corporate Residency Manager. I am concerned about travel to Nova Scotia for my work term.

On April 26, 2021, Management Career Services communicated to all students who are employed for the Summer 2021 work term. If you have secured a work term in Nova Scotia and have yet to arrive in Nova Scotia, and your employer requires you to be located in Nova Scotia, please follow the instructions in the email for documentation to provide at a border checkpoint to minimize the chance of being turned away. If you have questions, please contact your assigned Career and Recruitment Specialist or Corporate Residency Manager.
