Course Description

This course exposes participants to the FinTech landscape and explores parts of the banking ecosystem already impacted or most likely to be impacted by FinTech: wealth management, payments, money transfers and settlements, investment banking, lending, trade finance, and compliance and security. 

Topics include peer-to-peer lending, equity crowdfunding and initial coin offerings (ICOs), digital advisory and trading systems, blockchain and cryptocurrencies, InsurTech, RegTech, open banking, and financial inclusion.

Learning Outcomes

At the end of this interactive course, participants will:

  • Know the factors that contributed to the emergence of FinTech.
  • Understand the FinTech ecosystem.
  • Be aware of the models of bank engagement with FinTech firms.
  • Appreciate the opportunities and risks posed by FinTech.
  • Appreciate the role of traditional banks and FinTech companies in economies.
