Leslie McNabb, BComm., FEA

Director, Centre for Family Business and Regional Prosperity

Ms. McNabb joined the Centre in 2011 as Director after a year and a half in Alumni Relations with the Faculty of Management. Leslie is a Dalhousie alumna (BComm '90) and prior to working at Dalhousie she spentĀ 19 years in the financial services industry including 13 years with Scotia Capital in Toronto. Leslie held a variety of senior management roles including Associate Director, Corporate Finance; Senior Manager, Corporate Marketing; and Manager, Human Resources.

Leslie obtained her FAMILY ENTERPRISE ADVISOR (tm) certification in 2016 from the Institute of Family Enterprise Advisors.

In consultation with the Advisory Board, Leslie supports the strategic planning for the Centre and is responsible for outreach and operational implementation of the Centre's initiatives. She particularly enjoys her involvement with the Managing the Family Enterprise students, especially her coaching duties for the annual Family Enterprise Case Competition at the University of Vermont.

Dr. Albert James

Assistant Professor of Family Business,

Rowe School of Business

Albert received his PhD from the department of Strategic Management and Organization at the University of Alberta. Albert comes to us from Bishop's University where he taught entrepreneurship following a long career working in and managing small and medium-sized entrepreneurial and family-owned firms. From his work experience and educational background Albert is a passionate teacher and researcher in the fields of family business and entrepreneurship. He has published book chapters in both fields as well as academic journal articles in The Family Business Review and Family Relations.
