Updates on Coronavirus disease (COVID‑19)

MESSAGE TO OUR STUDENTS (March 13, 2020)

Dalhousie University has been closely monitoring the developments related to the Coronavirus (COVID-19). The priority of the university is the health, safety and well-being of our students, faculty and the general public on and off campus. We have been contacted by numerous students who have informed us that due to COVID-19 outbreak, they have been advised against non-essential travel and some may be called to duty in support efforts in dealing with the epidemic (this is especially the case for those in the health services areas).

Much consultation has occurred within our faculty and the university at large as to what we can do to limit the risk to our students, faculty and the public. A decision has been made that due to the unforeseen and extraordinary circumstances of the COVID-19 crisis, we will not be conducting in-person/F2F intensive sessions for the program. All intensives will be conducted via virtual/online delivery. We are working with the instructors to design, develop and support the implementation of the online intensives; details of what this may look like will be communicated in the coming days or weeks (depending on when the intensive is scheduled). As with face-to-face intensives each course will have different formats and expectations. Our goal is to make your learning experience positive and as seamless as possible.

It is important to note that this decision to move to virtual intensives was not made lightly and is unprecedented; it is our hope that we will resume normal operations in the spring/summer term.

We will continue to update you on the developments as they become available.

We appreciate your patience and support.
