DFLS Speaker Event: Professor Emeritus Rollie Thompson on Family Law Reform

The Dalhousie Family Law Society (DFLS) invites Schulich Law students and faculty to a special talk with Schulich Law Professor Emeritus Rollie Thompson, KC.

Thompson has played a key role in shaping family law reform across Canada and will share insights from his career, including his work on:

  • The Child and Family Services Act (CFSA)
  • The Child Support Guidelines
  • The Spousal Support Advisory Guidelines (SSAG)
  • Unified Family Courts in Nova Scotia
  • Relocation Law Reforms

He will also discuss the state of family law in law schools, as well as the role of family law in our court system, including the need for family law expertise at the appellate level.
