Tech Tok: Technological Innovations in Law – Virtual Reality, AI, and Tech Support

Join the Law & Technology Institute for its third Tech Tok lecture, where three invited speakers will discuss a range of recent technological innovations in law.

The lecture will feature the following guests and topics:

  • Damilola Awotula, doctoral candidate at the Faculty of Law (McGill University), will be speaking on AI and criminal justice, discussions of the state, prospects, opportunities, and problems arising from AI use in criminal sentencing in Canada;
  • Dr. Alexa Dodge, assistant professor of criminology (Saint Mary’s University), will be speaking on technology-facilitated supports of those impacted by technology-facilitated violence in various jurisdictions;
  • Dr. Jennifer Llewellyn, chair in Restorative Justice and director of the Restorative Research, Innovation, and Education Lab (Schulich School of Law, Dalhousie University), will be speaking on the Digital Oral Histories for Reconciliation Project and exploring the potential of virtual reality for justice.
